chicken coop laws

Can you have chickens in Dallas, TX city limits?
I was thinking of a chicken coop, but I wanted to make sure that before I managed to if I could actually do it within the city limits. I've heard two different answers, and I wan't my facts are straight. I was told by an animal control officer, I could hens, roosters, but not (unless the voice box was the fact that it could not interfere with) everyone damaged. Who knows how true th Law and, if so, could you tell me?
Perhaps you could call the animal control office and get it directly from them? Once, when I asked my animal control office how many dogs I would have asked me my address and she drew a map and saw exactly what my Environment was for smoking. Just like what I'm saying is, even if someone comes here and says "I live in Dallas and I have so many chickens and nobody cares" may it is only to apply for their environment! So best to control it from animals.
